Books I have read because of Dorothy Dunnett? The Falco mysteries by Lindsey Davis. A few years ago I read in an interview with Dorothy that she liked these mysteries for light reading in her spare time because they are so well-researched. I have been hooked on them ever since and have learned so much about Vespasian Rome. The first title in the series is Silver Pigs. I suppose several others have suggested this series. We all have read so many things because of her; I found at least part of Richard Chancellor's diary from his first trip to Russia. But the one I read most recently was Among Friends by Alistair Dunnett, and I never would have read it but for knowing he was Dorothy's husband. And I learned so much about him and envy those who knew him. Rose M. Helmberger
